The management of De Waterkant Village is committed to providing quality services and facilities to all our guests. We value all guest feedback and take our guest comments very serious. We are constantly monitoring independant online review and social media platforms and would like to address some of the more common concerns and questions relating to past guest experiences.
Guest comment: The different rooms and types of accommodation vary considerably and it is worth to take notice of this if you want to stay in the Village.
Recommendation: Due to DeWaterkant Village’s unique location within the historical Cape Malay area of DeWaterkant, most of our apartments have their own unique architecture, we recommend confirming the apartment classification and location when making a reservation. |
|
Guest comment: Dixon on the corner with waterkant has all its windows facing the Manhattan bar and can be noisy at night.
Recommendation: De Waterkant is unique in its variety of entertainment and eccentricity. We recommend De Waterkant Village for clients who truly want to experience the excitement and enchantment of Cape Town life, some apartments might experience social noise and we recommend confirming the location of your apartment should you require a quiet stay. |
|
Guest comment: The off-street parking is limited.
Recommendation: We recommend requesting a apartment with a garage or book a parking bay if your are self-driving, at R80 a day |
|
Guest comment: No access to afterhours staff (I would have been without a room on arrival) and no phones in apartments.
Recommendation: There is an all hour’s number for guests to call at any time for questions or any problems. There are no phones in our apartments and we do recommend renting a mobile phone prior to arrival, this can be done at Cape Town International Airport, or our reception staff can assist with local service providers. We operate a reception from 7am to 10pm in season and 7am to 8pm out of season. We highly recommend calling the All-Hours number – 082 454 6810 - at least 20 minutes prior to arrival outside of the above times to allow us to have the reception open for you. Calling from the airport, outside these times, prior to the transit to DWV is also advisable as this will assist us in being at the reception for your arrival to welcome you. |

Guest comment: Only downside is that there's wifi only in the lobby area of The Charles guesthouse. At least it is free.
Recommendation: The information centre at 1 Loader Street is equipped with two computer stations. Guests can purchase a voucher to use the internet facilities. There is complimentary wireless internet access at The Charles Café and De Waterkant House – the complimentary wifi is ONLY available in the coffee shop at The Charles and in the Lounge at De Waterkant House – Please ask staff for the passwords.
Should you be using windows Vista operating system, there is a setup procedure required –please request from reception or the manager.
Wifi access everywhere else is dependent on coverage and is not guaranteed. Should your unit not have access and you are not staying at the respective guest houses, please ask staff for directions to our nearest guest house, where you can make use of the service.
If you absolutely require internet access in your unit, we recommend renting a 3g USB modem from the Airport or any Vodacare shop, as we cannot guarantee coverage. www.vodacomsp.co.za - see this link for details of mobile phone rental at Cape Town Airport. |
